1st one yes, 2nd one dont know...but hotmail.com or anything like that works.

Basically, if you can't jailbreak it, there is a way around most applications using the net....this will get jailbroken again soon anyway.

Ookay!  I didn't know Weather.com had a Touch-friendly site.  I'm using it now, and although slower to load than WeatherBug, it's a lot more detailed!

I seriously think that it's worth considering the Cowon series of touchscreen players and also the Archos line of players (since they've been in the business of touchscreen players far long than Apple).

Truth be told, the Cowon Q5W is far and away the best video and touchscreen player available for now and the foreseeable future - however, you'll be sure to pay for it.

Do I really have to pay for any software I want to put on it, like the email and maps feature?  Can I just use webmail, or outlook?

You can just jailbreak and get loads of free software, it's harmless.

Is the internet connection on it any good?

Depends on the connection your connecting to, sometimes it's faster than other times. Like a public one would be slower than say a home one.

Yes, it does

No, but there is something being implemented for jailbroken iPods so that you can browse for music free.

Sadly, no

Well the iPod doesn't support flash right now. If you look on their website it's flash. So no, it does not work.
