I used to have a McAfee software that would shred so to speak your trash file and would do govt. standard deletion of what you shredded. I have switched isp and have this crap cox cable provides. I need something better and preferably free but would pay for it if its good.

Any suggestions? I want a firewall, virus scan, privicy protecion, spy ware and the shred thigy.

It will shred the contents of the Recycle Bin, but you can also right-click any file(s) and choose "Erase" to shred them too. Plus, it has a scheduler.

CCleaner will do 7 passes of the Recycle Bin when deleting the contents, which according to them is NSA standard.

Eraser can do 35 passes if you tell it to. I use ccleaner for internet paranoia and eraser for desktop paranoia.

Get Spysweeper/Spybot S&D
Get Regcure/Registry Booster
Get Window Washer/CCleaner
