i could also blame cigarettes. i'm sure more than 75% of people who have smoked weed smoked a cigarette before they ever smoked weed.
In a case like this, correlation != causation.  It goes for both sides of that argument.  Who cares if 99.9% of heroin addicts started on mother's milk.  That correlation says nothing about causation.  What does it matter that whatever percentage of people who do harder drugs started with marijuana.  That doesn't mean that marijuana was the cause of doing harder drugs.

You're passing judgement on it, but you don't even know what the drug dealers are CAUSING over here. I have lost two bikes in the last three years to asshole drug addicts stealing them to pawn for drug money.
Expensive, £300-odd bikes. Crime goes up if you legalise drug dealing.

Sorry, but how can you know that "drug addicts" stole your bike?

And no, I doubt "underground" marijuana dealing would be made legal. Sale would be an above-board industry, sellers would need a license to sell just as with alcohol and of course there would be sale restrictions concerning age.

Yeah, legalising it is a much better way to stop the dodgy dealers and drug lords and the crimes associated with them, imo.

Plus, you'd be able to tax it.

Plus, you could grow it nicely in huge places in the UK. And not buy it off Terry Taliban from Afghanistan, so you're not funding terrorism either!

You know why weed is a "step on drug"? Because it's the fucking safest one to try if you're curious. If you go on to Coke or Heroin you probably would of if Weed didn't exist.

It's like saying.- Oh I tried alcohol and like it, then I tried Weed, then I tried Shrooms, Then pills, then crack. I blame alcohol, make it illegal.-

Bullshit excuse, if weed wasn't so expensive I'd still do it. And I'm a sensible Sam.

Well, you seem to think marijuana is as dangerous as crack cocaine.

You want marijuana legalised for medicinal purposes, which seems to imply that you think its benefits outweigh its detrimental effects.

I just see a blatant contradiction in your argument.

I have been offered a shitload of times and everytime i have always declined. Me saying no to drugs is mostly due to when i was growing up the area was infested with drunks thiefs and druggies. And seeing shit like that all the time does make one think... This is my opinion about weed so dont go and get all upset now

Marihuana and heroin are both drugs. Milk is not. If anyone is failing at logic, surely it's you, in trying to downplay the significance of the effect that the use of one drug has on the use of another drug by referring to a common denominator that is completely irrelevant to substance abuse.

It takes a special kind of ignorance to believe that desensitisation towards substance abuse doesn't bring about a significant potential to delve deeper into its facets. Many of us have seen it first hand. Most people here are up for sane discussions, but not if you stick your fingers in your ears and ignore what has been proven time and time again.

A slight hint of aggression in my tone doesn't mean I'm upset. Though your extremely biased option is pretty poor, I smoked it and my financial situation or attitude didn't change. I turned down normal smokes when I was younger because I didn't want to do it, I wanted to try weed.

I think what Marinejuana was doing was employing a bit of hyperbole. He was trying to prove a point.
