This is taking the mick now with boot times hitting th 10min mark. i have no spyware or adware or viruses.

My system is 2gb ddr 2 pc-8500 ram
600W PSU
INtel core 2 duo Q6600 OCd slightly

I have no idea why, i dont have many startup programs and its only happened lately.

i have suspicions on the HDD (300GB SATA2)

Any help would be great!

P.S. No retards saying install XP etc trying to be smart and all knowing....

reinstall. or switch to XP
so, srsly, reinstall your OS. And defrag+clean up your HD.

Disable all your startup programs in msconfig and in the startup folder, see if it improves. If it does, then it is something that's starting up with windows.

go to run
then type msconfig
uncheck where it says load startup items
hope that helps

and use disk clean up and disk defragmenter frequently
