if you think your life is shit, look to a country next door to you. so sad that we kill ourselves to get the best computers, gifts, cars, homes when they dont have jack squat.

I have absolutly zero remourse or pity for them ........ I'm sure I woudl try to help them by doing something more then one of those " Give a dollar a day commericals " but it doesn't take a genius to figure out, if you're ina situation thats fucked then get the fuck out

they can be nomads and pickup and move to a better area with resources .... most of those villages just wait around for us or some other forigen country to pop up dig them a well, hand out some rice and meds and be gone till next year

I do feel for these people but when I see folks in this country who have next to nothing my pity only goes so far. Africa has been in turmoil for as long as I can remember, it seems when one country finally achieves peace 6 more countries delve into civil war to takes its place. Tragic.

The problem is that only certain technologies actually found themselves into their markets: they are still hugely inefficient with farming, but really efficient with killing each other. They are still hugely inefficient with their money, thanks to corruption of the government. This all has to get fixed before you can pull these guys out of their hole.
Oh, another problem is that the west exploits them just as much as their own rulers do.

The problem with Africa is that it's an asshole filled with Civil War, simple as that. It's kind of annoying to see all the kids at my school wearing these "Save Darfur" shirts. Will it really matter if I donate money to Darfur? What happens then? A Red Cross truck is going to pull up and throw some bags of food at people. That doesn't really mean a thing though, because tomorrow some whacked out warlord is going to organize a militia and go out killing and raping entire villages.

That's just Africa. That's how it always was, that's how it always will be, until the people try to take control.
