My Bands First Recording

So the other week me and my band decided to record a couple of songs. We didn't have the money to pay for a recording studio, so, as a couple of us do Music Technology, we decided to use the equipment at school and make a recording there.
It is not perfect, but we just wanted to record a couple of songs so our friends could get a rough idea of what we sound like. Unfortunately, there is no singing, as our lazy fucker of a singer thought it would be better to go out and do something else.

Please don't be too harsh, but criticism is welcome.

In the Rise Against cover the guitar wasn't as smooth as it should be, but otherwise very good.

Not bad, not bad at all. Your own song sounds pretty good actually and the more and more you practice it will get tighter, would like to hear the lyrics though. Get your lazy ass singer sorted

I would have put a solo in there...But I'm so shit at soloing it's unbelievable. I just can't do it

And as far as recording at school... Just as good as studio. What equipment did you use?

cool...how long you been a band?...you got any more songs you've written but not recorded?

when we recorded some of our bands songs we used a little 8 track which actually made good recordings

Dude your band are awesome We have been a serious band for 4-5 months. By serious I mean, we don't sit around taking the piss out of each other, we actually try and get stuff done now. We are finding it really hard to write our own stuff though. Some days I will sit at home and make a song up on the spot, and then when it comes round to showing the others, I forget it.
We do have one other song we have written and we didn't record it, as no one was up to it after 5-6 hours practice that day.
