It was only after I bid  that I noticed they have a 10 MHz difference in the GPU clock speed - So will they be compatible in SLI mode or are they going to end up screwing my system up?

Any advice would be great

And YES I know DX10 is the way forward but I cant afford that right now!!!

You can perfectly combine different brands in SLi.. Go for it.

The quicker card will just underclock its self to the speed of the other, after that you should be fine to run them in SLI.  Might get some teething problems with that underclock but I dont imagen it being to serious of an issue.

And you can always overclock it again, do the speeds of the GPU's have to be exactly the same in SLi? Else you could also both OC them to the default level of the fastest card.

Meh a 7600GT is slow, two 7600GT's in SLI is a bit faster but still slow .
Why not save up, sell the two 7600's and buy an 8800GT?

:p

Just had to fork out for a new m/b + HDD and still have to pay of xmas & New Year!!

It's on my wish list and I've been looking at stock levels of 7000 GPU's and prices of 8000 series GPU's and reckon it's possible that Nvidia will be bringing out next gen pretty soon - It's been about the right length of time since the 8000 has been out.

and yeah any 7000 series ain't great but it's gonna be another world compared to 7300gs in sli which is what i've got at the moment!!

2*7300 gs in Crysis = a pretty slideshow even on low settings which kinda defeats the point!
