Bullshit CSS Lag.

I get massive insane lag problems in Counter-Strike: Source. Ive reinstalled it, run virus/spyware scans, added configs that should have raised FPS but didnt, and done everything I could think of.

I get about 15-20 FPS the whole game running on low, in 1024x768 windowed mode. It lowers to 9 if something blows up nearby.
Ive tried running on DX8.1, and DX7 but there was NO FPS improvement at all, NONE. Bull. Muthafuckin. Shit.

Specs:
Gateway
Intel Prescott Pentium 4 3.4GHZ CPU
2x512GB DDR400 SDRAM
EVGA nVidia 7600GT 256MB With latest drivers
250GB HD
XP Home 32bit

I can run crysis, and I can run nearly any other game I want on mid or high. This wasnt always like this either. I used to get smooth FPS in CSS.

Maybe delete your program files for Steam and CSS, uninstall both, redownload Steam, redownload CSS from Steam?

I can run Hitman Blood Money, Crysis, CoD4, and any other games perfectly fine. It seems to JUST be CSS, even other Source engine based games work fine.

Your playing on the wrong servers. My home server is awesome, so many great funny people.

I think I fixed it. Something in my FPS (heres the irony) BOOSTING config was making me have extreme lag. Removed the config, then recreated it with what I really just needed and its fine now. Yay.

Intel GMA 950 is shit. It's not meant for gaming. It doesn't even fully support dx7 in hardware. Loads of calculations have to be done in software render. Be happy that it runs at all
