Lol, this might sound like a weird question, but which one would you rather have hit YOUR city, town, w/e you're in and why. So basically which one do you think you'd have a better chance at for survival. Both create massive destruction. Tornado's however are harder to give people a warning, while a hurricane, you usually have time to prepare for it.

hurricane. It's already happened to me, lost most of my roof, a few trees. But the current house I'm in will withstand anything. It was built 155 years ago, and the hull is concrete. In fact, the whole bloody thing is concrete--even the roof, it seems like!

Ditto. I've been hit by Hurricanes and although not particuarly pleasant, still nowhere near as destructive to your house/life as a tornado. Keep in mind in a Tornado, there's a decent possibility that the last moments of your life will be spent watching the ground approach

There are actually tornado's in hurricanes

Yes, and quite frequently. During hurricanes, tornadoes are a hazard. Some land falling tropical storms have spawned dozens of small twisters. They frequently occur on the outer fringes of the advancing storm. It is by no means unusual to be under both a tornado and hurricane watch or warning at the same time. Hurricane Beulah (1967) generated as many as 115 tornadoes upon making landfall in the U.S.

I wish Hurricane would drop by my house, we would have some good times.
Like, fun times, not 'good' times, if you catch my drift.

Tough call.  If it was just my house then I would say a hurricane.  If it was a whole town then I would say a tornado.  The largest tornados only get about a mile wide but an F5 can have wind speeds up to 300mph as to Cat 5 hurricane will only have windspeeds of around 150mph.  The hurricane would do more overall damage to a town/city than a tornado but the tornado will leave nothing but destruction on the buildings in its path.  Both are very interesting forces of nature and I guess it just depends on the situation.  After all if a hurricane was hitting my town in Indiana then I/all would be fucked.

Actually you aren't that far off from the truth.  Hurricanes DO spawn tornados.

tornado, cat 5. then i could be all like

children! children come quickly! we must enter the shelter! now! and then dramatic music would play and papers would blow and the wind chimes would go nuts and we'd run across the field and hide in the shelter. then i'd be all like: huddle in the corner! i'll hold down this flimsy piece of plywood and .10 latch i got at the wal-mart! then it'd be all like WHOOOOOOOSH! and the wood would start shaking and i'd look grim and pale and sweaty and then CRACK! the hinges break and i'm all like flying through the air holding the door going NOOOOOO!!! REMEMBER ME!!! OH SHIT DID WE TURN THE GAS OFF!?!?

I'm not sure really.  To me it seems like a question of wide spread moderate destruction, or concentrated omgwtfbbq where the hell did that house go!?!?!?!? destruction.

In the end, probably a hurricane cause you can see it coming and run like hell.

I live in the keys, and ive sat playing on my computer through atleast 5 hurricanes. No way would i want a tornado, which sometimes can form inside a hurricane. Every time i hear a tornado is forming around marathon i get scared, but a hurricane by itself really isnt that bad for me. My house happens to be located on the point of the island highest above sea level, so we are pretty much protected from a average/larger than average storm surge.

99 percent of the time a hurricane hits there are also tornadoes.

Hurricanes also bring stormsurges and the chances of you losing your home or being flooded are much greater.

I'm guessing all you advanced warning guys don't remember hurricane Charlie. Forecaster told us to evacuate.. it changed course drastically right before landfall and people ended up relocating right into the middle of the path..lol.

As long as you are well above sea level (cough cough New Orleans) you should be fine. Most damage from hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons come from storm surges.

First two rules about disaster evacuation:

Evacuate EARLY and evacuate a LONG WAY AWAY.
