I am moving house tomorrow. It will be However, it means I need to set up a new internatz connection so's I can talk to all you lovely people. Does anyone have any advice on (UK) ISP's and who is the fastest/cheapest, (or fastest AND cheapest )?
I have checked out the flat I am moving into and there is a BT phone line and an NTL/Virgin phone line, So I have a decent choice. I have no idea if these lines are able to carry a broadband signal or not, but they probably should as it is in a large city and the person before had a laptop (I only know this because it was there at the viewing). I also want to get cable/digital TV, and a phone line if one is offered. I have been looking at Sky and Virgins offers and they seem pretty good, but I have heard that the broadband speed you pay for with these guys isn't really ever the speed you get. I also remember using a site that tested what the fastest/best ISP for your adress was and where the local router/hub (?) was in relation to your house. Does anyone know the URL for this? Anyone got any advice on who to give my money to?
