Anyone in Denver know where to buy a good CPU cleaner locally?
compressed air?
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
What are you cleaning off it? Just dust or wiping off or old thermal paste?
For dust: compressed air
For thermal paste: 100% alcohol or something.

I purchased a E8400 and a zalman cooler and i was told to clean off the preapplied thermal paste. I was wondering if there was a local store that sold a cleaner. But if i can just use 100% alcohol thats cool.
This shit works extremely well http://www.arcticsilver.com/arcticlean.htm read the reviews anywhere, it is better than using alcohol or ethanol or any home cleaner that sort of works. I have used it several times and it will dissolve any crap on your cpu and come away nice and shiney. Use a coffee filter if you don't have lint free lens paper.
I didn't want to have to order anything and wait for it to come, so i was just curious if anyone new if there were any local stores that sold it.
the preapplied paste will be on the stock heatsink not the cpu and none of the zalman coolers i've ever seen have it preapplied either just so you know. and i have always used 91% alcohol to clean mine (100% is too hard to find in this hick town)mikeyc159 wrote:

o, i thought the paste was preapplied to the CPU, Thanks for the clarification. So when i get the cpu i just have to apply the paste and then install the zalman cooler.
That is correct.mikeyc159 wrote:
