I'd actually ahve to agre with Putin on this one. I'm not for an arms race but NATO has not stepped down its resources near former Soviet territory like they said they would. The United States would react in the same way and for them to give the Russian Federation any crap about it would be hypocritical.
These were defense systems. Now I find it alot more odd that Russia wanted them gone than us having em there.Liberal-Sl@yer wrote:

Poland wants these things, why dont you go and point the finger at their government instead of oursLiberal-Sl@yer wrote:

and its missile defense.
Think of it as putting a wall around your enemy whilst you're free to move around the field. That's Russia's concern. The fact that they can get hit and their retaliation would be (just a little bit) compromised.dayarath wrote:

Now the ideal solution to this would be to tell the US to not build the wall, or build your own wall around the US. I think they should go for the latter. Because the US would obviously object. And then they would reach a deal. And then no "walls" will be built and everyone can live happily ever after knowing that they still have the chance of nuking one and other without minor problems.
blame Poland, dont blame the US
bull, country borders are there for a reason. the russians can build anything they want in their own country and mind their own bussiness. but once it's another country they step in. It's a defense system. if no harm is intended when flying over no missiles will be fired as simple as that. I don't like the idea of that safe wall around us gone because russia wants it to dissapear.Mek-Izzle wrote:

I still dont get why the Russians dont just make their own defense system. problem solved.
any defense system will get in the way for planning for all their 100% innocent offensive weapons that this NATO defense pact is putting a damper onVilham wrote:

In soviet russia defense systems attack you most likely . They see missile defense systems more like offensive missile launch systems.Vilham wrote:

You're right. I suppose if they decided to build some defence systems in Cuba and Venezuela (lol, just about their only Allies in the area...) - The U.S wouldn't care right?dayarath wrote:

As far as the US and the other countries are concerned, they can build it and Russia can't do shit and you're right, because it's not in Russia. But, don't be surprised if they start making moves in Cuba and Venezuela.
because that guy is completely sane.Master* wrote:

I don't know how missile defence systems work, but wouldn't it make more sense to put the system near the US rather than across the ocean?
*Also, the tests the US ran at their Australian base (that's a shitload of flexing of military might), were failures - most missed and one took off in the complete opposite direction.

Pussy. Are you actually afraid that someone is going to fire a missile at us? Who? Iran? Don't. Make. Me. Laugh.dayarath wrote:

IF they even were retarded enough to fire a missile at anyone, it'd be Israel. For real, the missile 'defense' system is obviously a move against Russia. Now I'm thinking what the hell are we doing insisting on building this stupid wall for in the first place? We've been safe without it all these years.

Pussy. Are you actually afraid a country is going to do a surprise attack at one of our bases in the pacific? Who? Japan? Dont. Make. Me. Laugh.
Yeah, because we're totally in the Second World War right now. Wait a minute, no we're not.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

It's not odd. It's like Russia building a missile shield on Cuba, like others here have said. They're not going to nuke anyone, but they still want to be able to, just like everyone else on this Goddamn planet.dayarath wrote:
