yet the table clearly equals 0!

So do you know why if you add it horizontally, vertically or as a concept that it is different?

And none of the "add the -4 and the 4 together" crap because then you're adding each number in the table twice.

No, why is it that if you add it sideways and then down you get a different number than if you add it downwards and then sideways and a different number if you add it as a concept where all numbers get cancelled out?

Add the numbers in rows, then add the totals of these rows.
Add the numbers in columns, then add the totals of these columns.
Add the numbers so that they cancel each other out.
