Texas: It's bigger than France.

I love a good first growth Bordeaux, a Grand Cru Burgundy, a few other little treats like those, but other than that I can pretty much do without France in its entirety. I'll take Germany, Switzerland, and England for the win Alex.

Nature is a powerful force. Those who seek to subdue nature, never do so permanently.

What about the Brits?
If having awesome metal bands makes a good car-producing-country... Shouldn't England be #1 from Judas Priest alone?

Jaguar, land rover, Rolls-royce, Bentley, Lotus, McLaren, and numerous small fast supercars aren't enough?

So do I,  Mercedes Benz are shite.
You, sir, have no idea what you are talking about. My Dad bought an 190 E in 1985 drove it for 20 years, gave it to me,
I drove it for another 2 years wich added up to 22 years and about 350.000 km. You know how many major repairs that car needed ?
Exactly 2 in 22 years.
A new exhaust because it was rusty after about 18 years (!) and a new transmission after about 19 years.
Now show me any other car, lasting for so long with that "many" problems/repairs needed. Yeah...
Datsun 240k, 27 years old before we sold it, no major services, in fact never serviced outside of our house. More then 500,000 km.

I'd also disagree on the French being good at wine.... these days much overrated... the Australians and South Americans are producing much better.
You'd be very, very wrong about the wine. At the lower end of the price spectrum new world wines tend to be the best (unless you're in France in which case you can get decent French wines for next to nothing), but if you want slightly classier wines, there's no beating France.

French cars do tend to be a bit shit, especially Renaults with the lowest reliability of any car manufacturer - even worse reliability than my Alfa - but they do make the safest cars in the world and that's got to count for something.

Because there is no heavy metal in France.  Only cheese and wine.  That makes good cheese and wine, and shitty cars.
I'm pretty sure the French know how to import materials.

And the old Mini that's still going strong in other parts of the world. Plus how could you miss the good old Reliant Robin from that list? To be fair though, one of the best car manufacturers, next to Toyota, is Honda.

How does one pronounce "Citroën" for that matter? I'm thinking it's along the lines of (sit-truhn) but idunnolol
I say sit-truhn
In danish, It is pretty much straight forward

Citroën...

BTW: In danish; citron means lemon
And that's exactly what it means. Citroën's Dutch grandfather was named Limoenman, Dutch for Lime man. His name changed to Citroen (dutch for lemon). Citroën's family moved to France and ended up with the ¨ to make the name pronounceable in French.
