Just paid mine off.

They are definetely crooks.

I didn't pay attention at first, to the cash advances.

I was using "their" atm for the advancements, thinking I was avoiding a "usage" fee.

Oh no.

They were hitting me $10 per transaction, to use their own atm's.

So it Cost me $30 to take out a quick $20.

That is insane.

I tried to get them waived.

They wouldn't of course.

So I canceled right then and there.

So those few usage fees cost them a ton in what they could of made in interest fees.

Because I transfered half, and paid of half right away.

Now I tell everyone what they do.

Seems they are losing more clients then gaining, everyday.

They will fold soon enough.

I have 1000 shares of BofA....

Just fucking kidding. Bank of America truly are a bunch of crooks. Don't blow up their headquarters, just find out where all the board members live and give em a scare for their life maybe?

David I would be weary of what you say here man, I dunno why, but I guess its because anybody can google search phrases and you DO in fact get hits on BF2s.com threads. Thats how I came across trackr.com along time ago when I did a search on my forum name.

Bank of America is a joke. They did the exact same thing to me. I had a low balance and I was in the middle of moving to a new home. I paid the full amount but it was a few days late (i mailed it on the due date). Anyhow, the next thing I know my rate went from 9.99 to 29.99. I called in and explained that I was in the middle of moving and it was the first time I was every late. They wouldn't do anything, so I told them to cancel the card, the agent asks me to wait and then they hooked me up to a supervisor who told me that they would cancel the late fee and put my rate back.

Now this was just before Christmas, so I since I assumed my rate was back to normal, I used it on some Christmas gifts. Sure enough, the next bill comes, the rate will still 29.99. I called in again and asked what happened to my regular rate. This time the supervisor says that even though the other supervisor said she would lower the rate back to its original that it wasn't guaranteed until another higher up approved it. WTF?? So again, I paid it off right away and waiting for the next bill to say its zero balance so can cancel this con artist of a bank.

Do not use Bank of America...they are doing whatever they can to gather extra money through late payments, fees and interests. They are taking a huge hit on the mortgage mess and going after the every day person to get some money in hand. I have had a Citi card for 20 years and have been late now and then but always was able to work out any conflict with them and have had the same rate or even lowered on occasion.

Even though I didn't know any of this until now, I always had the inkling that BofA sucked. Good thing I have OCTFCU Credit Unions are the best... or at least they seem to be. Mine is great and has always treated me with respect and has always been extremely helpful and friendly.

I think this is one of the many reasons why ron paul could do some good as president. No matter what kind of people support him and their delusional views about him.

I have been warning everyone I know about them.

Only had my bad encounter to relay to them.

Now I can pass on all these horror stories too.

I remember doing business with Bank of America with a test-the-waters account, and it soon depleted with tons of hidden charges, even while idle. Target National Bank charged me a $29 fee on top of a $16 credit charge (lost in my copious stack of paperwork) that was a couple weeks late. No phone call or anything, and only found out when I became curious enough to call them. Turned out to be the most expensive movie, Gatorade and bag of Pretzels I've ever bought.

Target can take their rewards and shove them where the light don't shine, and BofA can go to Hell. Criminal, the lot of them.

Oh yeah, if Our mortgage wasn't with BofA, i'd leave them completely.  We have an overdraft line of credit (BofA Credit Card) for our checking account whose balance is at $1800.  We were late and it went from 12%ish to 50%.  Since there's no way to get back at them other than to stop using them (like they'd notice or give a crap), we'll just be migrating to a small, insignificant credit union we belong to with an inactive account.  I wish doing that would "show 'em" but it won't.

But yeah, 12% to 50% is not ethical, not right, not fair, and it's just plain rude.  It's professional robbery.  Spread the word...in fact, just assume all big financial establishments as being evil since they most definitely all use these unethical practices.

On the topic of credit cards....I'm amazed at the brazen level of their propaganda.  The latest commercial lines show a swirling, musical, humming line of shoppers going through check-outs swiping their credit cards when they abruptly and angrily STOP because someone has the audacity to use cash or check (aka "REAL MONEY").  They brainwash the mass media populace with the idea that paying later, and paying a pimp CC company for that highly desired "privilege" is GOOD and paying responsibly with cash or a check is WRONG.  I won't even go into college kids being preyed on by the CC companies.

Seriously, if there's a worthy target of bombings...i say to refer to the movie Fight Club for the answer.  The credit industry is probably more villainous than the prescription drug industry in this country.

Wells Fargo Credit card upped my rate to 31.99%

For a late payment.  Strange thing though, I had a Wells Fargo checking account, and to even get the Credit Card, they made it mandatory that the payments we to be done AUTOMATICALLY from my checking account.  Hmm.

Credit Cards arer good for one thing: Emergencies.   You should never maintain a balance above 0 unless you HAD to have something.  That color plasma TV doesnt count.

People need to realize that buying things should be based on what you CAN AFFORD, and not THE PAYMENTS you can afford.

I know where I put mine. One slip-up and they getcha.

It's not that I can't afford anything I buy, it's that I no longer want to be slapped with the horrible customer service and highway robbery that comes with it.

oh i knowe, iwasnt mocking ANYONE here, Im just saying in general,  Credit cards have become a system of passive robbery, and until it changes back to an alternative method of buying things, rather than extortion, People need to do their best to get rid of thier debt on credit cards, if that happened, it would ruin them.  Good riddance.

I do agree that people shouldn't be given the idea that using credit on everything is proper... but I would definitely support more places getting things like Mastercard's PayPass, or people just getting debit cards in general. It's the exact same thing as having cash except it pays the exact amount, and is faster.

PayPass ftw.
