Wow! kudos to you for taking the time to make a decent system for under $700.

anyway like he said, its not very future proof.

i agree with .Sup as he is a lot wiser than me ...but u wont get one in a system for under 750 dollars unless u sacrifice another component

the site is www.newegg.com

Then he should get a cheap EVGA gfx card and replace with a new one within 90 days. Its a system EVGA has. You just pay the difference.

The 8600 is really nothing to have. A 7800/7900 card would be better. 8600GT = 7600GT with DX10 support. I'd say, go for the 8800GT. It will be worth while.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

An E8200 is also a good buy but he will have to be careful so his mobo supports that new processor.

He doesnt need to overclock.... I dont even know if he is gonna buy a new comp... I just want him to get into computer gaming...

The barebone kit looks pretty good actually. I wonder if fans would cost a lot. Do you guys think the barebone kit comes with XP in it or would you have to install it yourself? And do you build barebone kits or are they already made for you?

Impossible with such a budget. If we could drop the HDD or the case, then it would be. But in the current circumstance, its not possible. I tried everything.

Ah if he wants to buy a new PC, he needs to invest more otherwise no point on buying it.
