So, I have a laptop, and over the last couple days, it's been doing some strange things... Artifacting... getting a tad too hot....

So my core temp right now is about 50 C... I'm running Firefox and that's it. Is that normal? Also, is there a way to check the temp of my GPU and other things?
Karma for help! Thanks.

thanks guys.
Okay, so when I'm not running anything... except firefox... my core temp is 50C, when I run Company of Heroes, it jumps to around 70.... I dunno though... My fans have never had to constantly be on, but in the last week, my computer has been automatically turning the fans on all the time... And the computer has been seemingly hotter than it has been in the past...

i'm confused.

My laptop CPU easily reaches 80°C on load. I contacted HP and they said it was normal

C2D 'Merom' T5600 1.83GHz that is
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

strange... thats... quite hot.

also, is there any way to check whether or not all my fans are working? I have a Dell Inspiron 1705. Of course, I know how to check this on a desktop, but... a laptop is a bit different.

possibly the mobo has a sensor, but I kinda doubt it. Visual control is probs easiest.

Um............ Is it right that my "GPU Diode" is at -124 Celcius? This is about where my computer knowledge ends.

yes, thats perfectly normal ... your GPU taps into the power of subspace to cool your PC

actually everest just interprets the sensor wrong/the sensor isn't implemented correctly

If your comfortable enough it may help to open up the case and blow out any dust in the heatsink/fan.  it is very easy for them to clog up over time and laptops don't have the best cooling to begin with.  also as stated before (depending on the processor) it's not uncommon for laptops to run very hot compared to a desktop, mine has hit around 80c or so.
