I already had 2 paragraphs typed when you wrote that sorry but thanks for the help. I'm on the position that neither side really won, because ultimately the Southern Democrats came back into power and there was segregation against blacks for 100 years. Sure they lose their slaves but they imposed such control over the freedmen that it wasn't much more different.
Also, they pulled out the federal troops when Andrew Johnson came in.

You spent your day online helping people. Not too shabby really. is it healthy to sit all day in front of a computer, not really. But there are alot of worse things alot of people are doing.
It's all a mattter of perception. Society seems to say that sitting around online is a waste of time. But with the way the internets are, ther is an infinite amount of knowledge, people eager to debate on many topics, and things to explore that, in history, was never before possible.
