yeah, but we're getting it under control. we've actually tried to stop our gangsters. your law enforcement is doing pretty much the opposite.

besides, pretty much the entire rest of the english DST community does.

I think it's due to a lack of places to go. Where I used to live, there's 2 football pitches and you have to pay to book them. Matches are played like every hour by like Pub teams and shit, the only chance kids get to go on is like in between matches when they're warming up or in the morning...

That's why people are forced to the streets. Because there's shite all else to do.

well if i'm in a position of power it would go like this:

step one: authorize the use of force (for law enforcement) if necessary (as deemed by those in charge of the situation) to subdue. every officer on the force for more than a year will have authorized acess to a gun and taser at all patrol times (which must be returned to a high security vault following shifts, based on a checkout system with multiple administrators). the gun is pretty much just for show. real work should be done with the taser, unless the officer's safety is at risk.

step three: open the eyes of those in judicial power. this is perhaps the worst problem. like many english have said up top, you can't defend yourself without risking jail time. this is bullshit. it doesn't fucking matter how old a person is. if they attack you, you should be able to fight back. i think its pretty obvious when one man is claiming five kids attacked him and they're claiming the opposite. who takes on five people who incidentally are all dressed the same and lack the intelligence to use proper language? its one thing if they're all respectable kids and he's psycho, but thats generally not the case.

step four: win the public. seeing as there's a large population of chavs, something will obviously need to be done to quell the fears of parents out there. to accomplish this, patrol cars will all have cameras rolling and fiber optic cameras will be installed in officers' hats or gloves or shirts or something. this will effectively stop police brutality and use of unnecessary force. any officer convicted of the previous will be placed under house arrest for some time and lose his job. this will be conducted by trial with a mixed group of police, lords, and random citizens as jurors in order to keep corruption to a minimum.

i've done my best to fit this in with the british way of doing things. let me know if i've messed anything up.

The tazer will do by itself. Only dickhead gangs in London use Guns, as for everywhere else tazers will suffice against knives.

Yup, it's seen as a badge of honour. People laugh at how many they have.

Yeah you should be able to fight back, and people do. That's why that guy in the above link got killed. The issue isn't people getting sent to prison for fighting back, but people getting killed fighting back.

I don't care if you're 13-60. Guy, Girl, Black, White, Chinese, Red, Blue etc.  If you're fucking with me, while i'm trying to do my job (i.e. put out a fire, save somebody's life) I'm going to fuck you up.  And I know myself, my truck crew, and all of the supervisors will say the same thing. and especially if they're teenagers.  It is not ok and it sure as fuck not a recreational activity to ambush anybody with bricks just because you can. reguardless if you're a firefighter or the average joe walking down the street.


so yes, i'd defend myself and my crew from these little twerps.  also that nifty little fire truck should be equipped with a deck gun or water cannon.  I know personally that people fly with the Pressure jacked up.  (we did this during a demonstration when it got out of control)

I'm sure that's what most of the firefighters here think too. Unfortunately they also know that any retaliation will result in strict punishments, including losing their job. That's just how our gov works these days...

That's what I'm complaining about, how we can't even defend ourselves, not even the emergency services. What's good about America and probably any other country is that the government and community would definitely be there to support the firefighters. It's just a totally different story here.
