Islamist extremists have infiltrated Government and key public utilities to pass sensitive information to terrorists, the security services have warned…

The development is detailed in intelligence reports circulated to the Home Office, police and Whitehall officials.

The London Underground, Gatwick airport and BT are cited as examples of organisations which have been targeted by individuals linked to terrorists…

Several police officers and civilian staff are being monitored amid claims they are long-term sleepers trying to gain sensitive information of use to terrorists.

Some are even believed to have attended terror training camps in Pakistan or Afghanistan…

MI5 has warned in the past that suspects with “strong links” to Osama Bin Laden have tried to join the British security services and, in January last year, exiled radical Omar Bakri claimed that Islamic extremists were infiltrating the police and other public sector organisations.

It's from the Daily Mail, so approach with caution. Of course it is a possibility.

I believe that it is likely they are trying to do this. The fact is, we and the U.K. are at war with Islamist ( not Islam ). Until such a time comes when we are not they should not be allowed in sensitive posts, including technology, law enforcement and/or science.

But I also believe that our governments need only float a story like this every few weeks to continue to justify the hundreds of billions we spend every few weeks.

It was summer school for them. They closed the road so that the kids wouldn't get run over. Same that my school did from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. We lined up in the street and waited for the pledge of allegiance to be said before going in. That was my first run in with Islam. I thought they were at first hindu's or indians.

aw cmon don't compare them with each other. edit: and as far as the article goes... plausible. It makes sense that they would try to infiltrate police, security at airports and what not. Just like they are constantly trying to infiltrate the Iraq's and Afghanistan's militaries.
On the other hand whats even more scarier is the rumors that they are buying allegiance of non-Muslims. They probably wont get them to blow them selves up, but for enough money they can get informations, access to materials, closed areas etc. Now thats a fucked up scenario right there.
