Your friend is a true hero. May he rest in peace.
Tragic. It was heroic of him to go back and save his squadmates. Whether you like the military or not, it seems to unprecedentedly breed true brotherhood between strangers. I hope his kids grow up knowing how much of a hero their father was... and I hope his wife draws his courage in his passing.
I wish the best to his children and wife, for he was truly a great man.
