i have a problem: all the on-screen writings i have are in italian, while i'd prefer them in english.
somehow i onced managed to do this, but i'm not sure how,i think it was when i installed the game.
anyways, is there a way to change the writings (such as ''you killed...'') and the radio message subtitles to english?
i've tried to swap the names of the localisation files, but it doesn't work, i get a load of weird stuff with '' _ ''  between words (instead of having the exit butytpon i had ''button_6'' in the upper right corner of the menu)
please help

I think they give you a language option when you install the game

1) the game was not downloaded from the intermet, it's original, i bought it in italy (i am italian) and its in italian by default... i remember that when you install it it asks the language, but i think it only regards the installer language, not the program... anyways i think i'll have to try and reinstall

You could just copy everything from
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\localization\English\English.utxt
into
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\localization\Italian\Italian.utxt

That would save you a lot of time rather than reinstalling

hmm actually i hadn't tried that, but now i have and i noticed i dont even have part of the english localisation files, although i used to get everything in english before i reformatted the pc...
this is the folder:

barely readable, anyway the files are: english_mappack_ht; english_mappacks; english_patch; XPenglish (this only contains the expansion

Re-install the game and choose English when prompted about the language!
It's not for the installer only, but for the game too.

If you're installing SF too, don't forget to choose English again.

First delete the files in Italian, copy the English ones and rename those to the names of the old Italian ones.

there are a load of custom localizations floating around the place that you could have used, but an Install always solves everything
