I've dealt with asshole cops before. But I never got rude with them. Mainly because I was doing something really illegal or had contraband on me.

Only "A little bit" ? He had absolutely no reason to act like he did tbh.
no, he did. the kid wasn't listening to him, and when the cop demanded he hand over the skateboard he tried to fight. you don't do that. never. never.

you don't interrupt the cop, and you don't bitch, and you don't do what he just told you not to do.

there was no assault.
I still think the cop's reaction was unacceptable.

You find them anywhere.
You find me an officer in Europe who would handle a situation like that, and I'll agree, but you wont be able to.

Just a fat fuck on a power trip, overly patronising .

It sounded like something out of the school playground, not a police officer.
Yawn....

You can find dumb shits like that everywhere. For example, you have people 20 times worse over in the UK with your chavs.
I'm only talking about the officer here, not the kids.

Also, I'm not saying that caps aren't arsewholes everywhere else, of course they are, they can be overpowering, over ambitious to make arrests etc.....But in all my time I've never seen a cap behave like a spoiled  arrogant prick, in the way he did

based on what law? so far anglo-american law is comparable to german law i can say there is no reasonable motivation for that. because in german law you cant just confiscate things as you wish, and of course not for the reason the cop had. had this happend in germany this cop could kiss his sorry ass goodbye.
SKATING ON SIDEWALKS IS ILLEGAL IN CERTAIN AREAS.

If I drove along the damn pavement my car would be impounded within two seconds of a cop seeing.

I was cuffed and thrown on the hood of a Chicago PD car because they thought I was a gangmember.  Was I any worse for wear? No.  Many of these police risk their lives daily, especially in the gang units.  I'd rather have them mistakenly rough up someone innocent than get soft and get themselves shot.

I understand him getting fed up with these cockyass mouthy kids.  They need a good ass-kicking by someone in authority to straighten out there "i've got the world by the tail" attitude.  Perhaps the little "dude" should learn his place and call people in authority "sir".  Disrespect an officer by not addressing him in a respectful manner and you're going to get on his bad side.
or the cop could just learn how to learn to deal with 14 year old kids.. was it a night time back alley high risk situation? no. was he in any danger of being shot? no.

he didn't mistakenly rough someone up, he abused his power and took his anger out on some kid. theres a difference.

Cop's a fat prick pissed about having to drive a stupid car, and having a power trip the only way he can.

Kid's as idiotic as the rest of his generation of future failures.

Maybe now he'll figure out that he should answer clearly and end the sentence with "sir" when an officer asks a question.
You see, everyone is saying this is an issue of respect. My question is, why exactly should he be adressing this guy as "sir" when he's acting like an asshole? If a cop pulls me over or comes and talks to me or something, I'll treat him respectfully, just like a normal guy. We wouldn't have a problem. But if a cop comes up, flipping out, over reacting, and generally acting like an ass, then no, I'm not going to treat him respectfully, and I'm sure as hell not going to call him sir.
The kid started it by not following the officer's orders and on top of it, calling the officer "dude" repeatedly when he had been directly told not to.  Had he immediately responded to the officer's questions and called him "sir" this wouldn't even be a story.  Even if one encounters on overreacting officer, one does not make the situation worse by being disrespectful.  Pretty simple really.  I have gotten out of 5 speeding tickets in my 12 years on the road ... even when I was going almost 12mph over.  Why?  I put the officer at ease by following orders and addressing him as "sir" and I didn't bs him.  This kid broke all 3 of those rules.  If I had decided to be a jerkoff like that kid, I'd have $1,000 worth of tickets and I'd deserve it.

K for the "bad cop" group here, ill list the things the kids did wrong.

1. BROKE THE LAW. Skating on certain sidewalks is ILLEGAL.
2. Back talked and talked rudely to a cop. In England I would get arrest for just doing that.
3. Tried to resist confiscation of an item that was used to BREAK THE LAW.

The kids has no legal leg to stand on, the cop does. Police man in right. Kid in wrong

Please stop showing me irrelevant links, I'm not talking about the force he used, I'm talking about his incredibly annoying tone of voice and manner that just wants to make you cringe, the police in the UK are over-worked as it is, they don't waste time like this idiot.

Having put up with a group of 6th grade kids for a week last year, they probably had it coming.  You can tell by the tone in their voice that they were just being sarcastic assholes.

Those links involve, killing people with excessive force....hardly the same thing now is it?

If the guy had come up to those kids without saying a word and shot them, we would have a different matter on our hands.

I'll say it again, I'm talking about the manner in which he handled it, the most minor offence you can commit....the kids stop, yet he still goes on and on and on, just looking for trouble.

Im saying that guy is waste of space and time in this situation, and he has had a massive over reaction like a little kiddy, all he had to say was "ok don't do it again" in a firm and commanding voice, and move on.

He was trying to get some self satisfaction, after his 25 piece bucket, KFC meal.

That doesn't happen in the UK, the police are bad in other ways in the UK, but they don't behave like this...

M'kay?

Kids by me are the biggest derelict fucktards you'll ever meet (save your chavs, they can't be surpassed), and I'd want to beat them senseless too, but he's a cop, and should enforce the laws, not break them.

that said, i hope that kid enjoys his career changing my oil.

He doesnt deserve respect. The kid said he doesnt have a dad and the fucker keeps talkin bout his daddy, Fucking stupid cops
poor kids only 14, when your that age and your intimidated you say dude and man.

Theres no reason to yell at a 14 year old and throw him on the ground over dude and skateboardng

Right, yet you seemed to find it appropriate to extract

the suffocation death of a Nigerian asylum seeker
The victim suffered a brain hemorrhage
during which one demonstrator was shot dead
"Knocked a man to the ground for jaywalking."
"Repeatedly kicked a person for swearing at officers."

Even so, can you not see this is not what I'm talking about, I was making a completely different point, you've taken it from the wrong end of the stick, and now I have to post this, at 1am in the morning, when I really should be in bed...
