I've been trying to find the difference in performance between 667mhz DDR2 ram and 800mhz DDR2 ram. I haven't been able to find any benchmarks that compare different RAM speeds.

More specifically, I'm interested in getting a 4GB (2x2) OCZ XTC gold pc6400 kit to replace my 2gb (2x1) corsair twin2x pc5400 kit, and I'd like to get an idea of what kind of a difference it would make in actual performance.

The higher the Mhz, the quicker information will travel, so 800Mhz is much better than 667.
Doubling your RAM will give a great increase in performance, so long as you have a CPU and GPU which can take advantage of the extra 2GB.
Also, unless you're using Vista 64, your computer will only recognise 3.5-3.8 GB of that RAM.

Yeah, Im going to install 64-bit vista if I buy the RAM. My GPU is an 8800gt, my CPU a 4300 clocked at 3.2GHZ. However, without any accurate information to show me what the difference in performance will be, I'm not convinced it's worth the money.
