Giovanni Trapattoni was confirmed as Rep. Of Ireland manager yesterday after one of the longest searches in sports history. It's been dark days for Irish soccer lately, English fans will be able to identify with us on this, perhaps this will spur us on to bigger and brighter things? What do you reckon ...will he do the business or is he over the hill? Check out the clip below to see him in fighting form...

He has managed some top teams, so it's good. But there's not much he can do with limited options compared to what he has managed, and yes I know they were club teams, maybe he can pull a few rabbits out of the hat.

Whether he'll do good or not, only time will tell.. but I hope to god he does.

P.s: Since watching the vid: may he box some heads.

pp.s: Read that he was approached first for England job but turned it down, then they went for Fabio, not sure if it's hear-say though.

Guy looks like a real physco exactly what you need in senior management.

Its a question of what can he do with what he's got. Best of luck to him (and the poor, on doubt frightened, players )
