I remember when everyone hated the support kit.
I remember when not everyone would hit their target with the LMGs.
I remember when you were considered skilled to win a firefight at close ranges (and long ranges) with the LMGs.
I remember when I felt special because I was damned good with the support gun pre-1.2
Now everyone and their brother just run around diving to the ground getting headshots with the pkm like crazy. I just don't like it.

I remember when FPS games were about skill, hand-eye coordination, quick reflexes and knowing the maps.
I remember when you could pick a weapon, any weapons and get good at it and own anyone.
I remember when game companies cared more about game balance than pleasing a whiny community.
I remember when changes to games were made for the good of the game, not the good of whoeever cried the most.
I remember when people actually had respect for skilled players, and just didn't cry nerf whenever they died.

I'll lean more towards Torin's rememberances. Slay's post simply seems like one large complaint...that's how all of his other posts have been (regarding the 1.2 patch etc).

Oh for christ's sake.
My post was simply about the Support kit. how is that "one large complaint"
The reason I posted this is because it now takes NO skill to be good with the support kit. When I used the support kit pre1.2 it took skill to know how to fire the gun to kill at long ranges, and even close range. now the guys just hop to the ground fire one burst and it's a kill. it's just way too easy.
I appreciate that DICE has listened to the community, but I think they go overboard with certain things. They've turned the suport kit into somethign that should be called "superhuman kit" When I snipe, I get out sniped by the freaking SAW. And you can't tell me "maybe they're just good and you suck" Everyone is always talking about balance. Wheres the balance in this?
And am I somebody that everyone loves to hate or something? Because I voice my opinion?
Deathstouch, you've been on these forums for a whole 8 days and you act like you have all the knowledge in the world.
Anarky, I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I don't have to work at all for a kill with any of the LMGs. I destroyed with the LMGs pre1.2, so now I massacre. I just think it's stupid how overnight everyone is a class A marksman with these guns.

I tend to agree with Slaythem, last night I was getting hammered by guys with support kits. Several times they didn't even bother to go prone and were killing me with just a hit or two when the day before they wouldn't have been able to hit the side of a vodnik at the same distance.

P.S. I think the MG36 has become the new god gun

Thank you. You're obviously one of the only ones that have seen the new patched LMGs in action. All these support guys can kill you by STANDING UP and strafing and jsut unloading.. and the first 5 shots out of the gun will kill you. it barely ever misses now.

I used to play Support too, I liked it too, it was fun lying down in corridors and taking down entire squads as they jumped up and down.

Now you don't even need ironsights, lie down spray and pray and hey, you've just killed the entire team. The skill in it has been removed completely.

I did it before, but instead of going prone, I simply just ran at people spraying and they all died. Fucking madness...

yes, it's been a very long time since i was killed by a SAW... at first i didn't even recognise the weapon name when it came up because it's been so long. yesterday, i went prone, aimed, and fired single shots with a AK and was killed by my target - who fired his PKM at me standing, without aiming. W.T.F. if you think that;s 'one large complaint', i think you're kinda missing the point.

I hardly ever say "I am awesome, I'm the best at this and this" at most I'll say something like "I'm a decent pilot" I hardly ever speak highly of myself. I know I do sometimes, but that's not because I'm conceited. If you'd like to see conceited, go read Planewhore's post on totalbattlefield(I think that's the forum) and see why he thinks AA was made better.

Oh yeah, and if you're referring to such things that I say like "I was damned good with it" or "Now this is skill" It's just the simple fact that I'm proud of my accomplishment. And if being proud of an accomplishment and every now and then saying "I'm pretty good with that" is conceited, then by all means, call me conceited.

Amen... I was working my way past the 2,000 GR in my support kit....
i wanted to feel proud of somethnig, and I love the support kit.

then SF came out with Teargas and BAM!

In 24 hours I went from 2,000 to 6,000 GR.

I worked my way back to around 4,000....

1.2 comes out... don't even WANT to know.

The aircraft are no longer totally overpowered and don't let one or two players totally dominate a 64-player map. ComradeWho - exactly right. Most people have their favourite weapon/class/tactic and want it to be supercharged and every other thing to be nerfed so they can be uber-badass and pwn everyone. Online gaming isn't exactly overflowing with maturity, respect and friendliness.

Haha... carry on. This is good. The PKM is what it's supposed to be, I've used it before and will continue, I didn't see anything drastic about the change am I missing something. Did someone have a bad day getting hit with the PKM, the PKM from afar is still the same even in 3-5 shot bursts at 200m. Never hated it, just thought that everytime you go prone you have some person snipe or GL you (which was legit, I hate getting killed too), now I can actually stand up and fire and hit. Every kit has thier pros and cons. I agree with Torin.

If you are getting out-sniped by the pkm, you are either trying to snipe from stupidly close distance or you just suck.

Sniper rifles recieved the same amount of love that the LMG's did. It is now relatively easy to get head shots especially with the new sniper rifle.

hey slay, i agree totally with you, i sucked with the support kits and only played as them when i was a commander to get my hours full for the next badges, but the last game i played i selected it and someone with a higher rank became the commy, so iw as stuck with the support kit (mg36), and i was simply amazed at how many kills i got with them compared to pre 1.2, just like you said, go prone, shoot a burst, kill. its just stupid now, same thing with the planes, it took skill to take someone out in a plin dogfight, but now its just fly behind them, lock, wait for flares to go away and shoot 2, boom. it sjust plain f*ck*ng stupid, the stingers and all the other missles that need a lock are just stupid, saw a missle that was shot at a chopper and it made about 10 very fast circles before it killed the chopper. i really hope they release a patch very fast and return some things of the game, although i like the support kit now i perfer to learn to shoot with it rather then just shoot and kill, same goes for the plane pilots, everybody is an ace pilot these day's, let them learn to fly properly, it takes no more skill to shoot them down or to kill with them.

I did that with BEFORE 1.2, wait until they drop flares and boom.. what's the difference, seems like you guys THINK there are HUGE differences and when in fact there aren't that many, , just the ones that all you guys were bitching for them to fix! It's just adaptation,when 1.12 came out there were hatred posts also. What'd we have 210,000,000,000 posts on bunny-hopping-dolphin-diving-GL-Plane-Tank-Whores? Now Shut Up and Play. You got what you wanted, now everyone seems to be bitching about what DICE fixed that they wanted them to fix to begin with. No ones ever going to be happy, they fixed bugs that needed to except for one-- The Red Bug -- in which they addressed in saying they are trying. I am not against or for this game, I just like playing.
