Im a fan of the M40 myself, seems quite a bit more accurate then the R700, however, double kills with the R700 are just absolutely epic.

M40A3 with standard scope.
Good enough power to knock a guy down with one shot quite easily, even when not playing in HC servers.
Also, it has the best accuracy, in my opinion its the best see it, shoot it, sniper rifle.
Other sniper rifles have harder time hitting a target at distance unless given a tad bit more time to settle down the scope compared to M40A3.

Dragunov, it just sounds cool, especially in a russian accent.
None of the above, COD4 is yet another game so anit-sniper that the assault rifles do a better job. M14 FTW! Ridiculous since the M21 is a suped up M14.
Almsot forgot the M60. Stopping Power with either of these weapons will generally result in a 1 hit kill to the chest and the M60 has WAY more ammo than a rifle.

M40. It's awesome, so accurate, bitching sound and it's the first one you unlock.
I do agree with Blizzard36, assualt rifles do the job of sniper rifles extremely well on this game, especially on hardcore. Faster rate of fire, just as accurate, and much quicker to get your sights on the target.

Got red tiger for the r700 and like it alot but im starting to enjoy the M21 it rocks .
