i tried calling my isp, but they said it was a dynamic ip, and the server automatically sets it. i don't know how true that is, but i'd like to know. i've also tried restarting my router and modem as well as logging in to the router and releasing and renewing dhcp. none of them worked. what do i do?
Depends on how thier DHCP lease policy is set up. Try changing the MAC address on the device that holds the real ip
btw, why are you trying to change ur IP?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
didnt work
If your IP is fixed, then you can't change it. If you want to change it for specific browsing reasons, then use a proxy - site or program ( program will find proxy IPs, you choose one and then set it to your proxy in FF or Opera ).
ig, I just checked your IP stats, they are dynamic. Which means your IP is always changing. There are like 5 mains ones you have with slight variations on each ( like 10-15 for each )

Proxies are banned on many sites. 4chan for example. And that program is the easiest way to change IP; Enter your connection name, click "Change my IP", wait 20 secons, done.Zimmer wrote:

so that means it can't be changed?Zimmer wrote:

I dunno if this works, but go Start > Connect To > All Connections.
Right click your connection and select properties. Double click the Internet Protocol thing, then go to the Alternate Configuration tab.
There is a thing that you can select that says User Configured. I dunno if this would work though.

That only works if he has a Static IP. If your ISP ( I am going to assume you have Comcast since they do the whole Dynamic IP) has a set IP for you, you most likely will have to pay to get it changed. However, it sounds like your IP changes your IP at random times.Ryan wrote:

Like jsnipy said, try changing the MAC address on the device facing your ISP. Typically DHCPds used in provider environments create lease profiles for each address in a scope, and provide you with the previously assigned IP address based on MAC address, if available. This isn't a guaranteed fix, though, as some DHCPds rely on circuit ID from DHCP option 82.
