Is there anyway to retrieve the phone number of a call that comes in as private, on a cell phone? I've been receiving prank calls/harassing calls, and I'd like to know who it is.

i guess if you were really motivated you could call your phone company and ask what to do and if they can offer any type of thing where they block any private calls

Well, I was getting prank calls during September of last year...This douchebag kid I was good friends with turned into a gangsta (see: chav) and apparentely stabbed someone so I told him I wanted nothing to do with him. Then my dad got prank phone calls with kids saying nasty shit to him. I had a feeling it was him, but wasn't sure. Then, I started getting them, but each time I missed them and they went to voicemail. One of them I got, he was stupid enough to not make the call restricted (number doesn't show up), so my Dad called the number and it turns out it was him. He had been sleeping over his friend's house and using his line to make the calls. Needless to say, the parents of the kid weren't too happy.
Then one time I finally got him calling from his own phone, and he said something retarded like "Do you have any playboy magazines?" so I said "Is this Dan? Okay, listen Dan. One more call, and you'll see a cop car show up at your house. And if they don't come, I'll personally come over there and shove my foot so far up your ass I'll be able to remove your tonsils with my toenails".
Haven't gotten a single call from him since then.

Humm, you might be able to get the phone company to make these stop, but so sure about that tho...Might be more of something the police might have to get involved into. But you might want to ask said phone company first, if they cant do shit, they might be able to tell you what to do.
