Unlocks again!!

I know that there are a lot of threads about this but here we go again. I am at the gunnery sargent rank (19,500) Pts and I installed Sf last week - applied the 1.12 patch, played everyday, got lost of points but NOT ONE unlock. Also I can't go into an SF maps. Get the "mod" message. Can I uninstall and try agian or what?!!!

Please help!!!

Do you need to play in a SF map before you will get the unlocks??

I was in the same boat yesterday. I had 19,800 points and just purchased SF prior to installing the new patch. I installed SF and got the same mod error message so here is what I did to start playing again:

-Install SF.

-Re-install 1.12 patch, available on FileFront.

-Install the new patch titled "BF2_Incremental_Patch_1.12_-_1.2"

I did that and everything was working fine, but still no unlocks. Hmm. I tried playing with the SF discs, on SF server maps. No unlocks. I loaded BF2 with the BF2 disc and went on BF2 map server, but no unlocks.

Finally, using the SF disc, I tried loading a BF2 map only server and voila, it kicked me out of the server, back to the BFHQ screen and I heard the drumroll.... and I have 5 unlocks.

This is what I did and I"ve played around 3 hours since with no issues, but I don't know if it will work for you or anyone else, so good luck.

what u mean by no unlocks? ur unlock u used to have wont show up?

You can only use the basic unlock in SF (level 1 unlocks of each kit if you prefer).

All SF unlocks and the 2 new unlocks are only available in the regular version of BF2.

Ok, this will answer everyones questions.

If you have bf2 and just got sf, you need to reapply the 1.12 patch and then download and install the incrementle 1.2 patch (81mb).
Or... don't reinstall the 1.12 patch and download and install the full 1.2 patch (300+mb).

As for your unlocks... I believe everyone gets two unlocks automaticaly after patching with 1.2.
If you used your unlocks that were given a week ago when EA patched their server, you will not get them again.

Ok, I FINALLY got my unlocks and everything is playing GREAT! Here is what I did - I downloaded the FULL 1.2 patch. 380M and installed it. I did this even after trying to install the 1.12 and 1.2 incrimental patchs. I did not uninstall or try to re-install anything - I just installed the full patch right over them and it solved ALL my problems.
