More or less the same price, no? Amazon almost had even me for a fraction of a second with the 'savings' until my consciousness finally caught up with what they did to the list price. Reminds me of a furniture retailer that pretty much went out of business in my area.

I never buy computer stuff from anywhere from Newegg or TD anyways. I don't trust Amazon with computer-related stuff.

Explanation: some e-tailers/retailers list prices at improbably high or original sums, then 'slice off' a huge chunk to make it look, on the surface, like you are getting a good deal. It's a bit of a dirty trick, but sometimes done accidentally through the sheer ignorance of some stock clerks.

The only reason I buy online (using checks) is that my trust for local stores and their outrageous price/customer service ratio has waned considerably over the years, particularly in the computer business.

Seeing <to avoid libel, insert office store and clerk here> get irritated at me for telling a couple of seniors that $120 for a CD-ROM drive was not a good deal in 2007 was the most recent clincher.
