I'll tell you what... this years flu was something else. I've been sick for a week straight and just now broke my fever. I work in a pharmacy so I get exposed to a lot of stuff, so usually my immunity to shit is pretty high but this damn bug... oh no this one had me up to 103.5F(39.72C) 4 days into it. several co workers who have had a flu shot this year(In the States) still got really sick. So the flu shot was a dud this year. When I went to a Minute Clinic there was a 3 hour wait to be seen. I'm also hearing from the pharmacy that they drugs people usually take for the flu are nearly out of stock locally. This whole ordeal is kind of making me wonder how vulnerable we really are to illnesses.

[b]My Symptoms:[/b}

- Headache(7 Days)
- Body ache(2 Days)
- Fever(7 Days)
- Sore Throat(3 Days)
- Coughing(3 Days)

Those were what I had and how long I had them for. It may very from person to person. What I did to get better was drink plenty of fluids, I took Ibuprofen every 4-6, and slept as much as I could. I just thought I would share my experience with you guys.

I've been very sick within the last few months (bad head cold in december, inner ear infection earlier this month), and I didn't get the flu. Guess my Flu Shot worked. My friend had the flu though with a fever of 102. Sucks tbh.

Knock on wood, I can't remember the last time I got a flu shot and I haven't gotten sick from it in forever. I've got B-Cells of steel I tell you.

edit: You're probably sick because you had the bad luck of getting a strain of flu that is more resistant to antibiotics... I'm no doctor but it'd make sense.

lol, I never get sick... Last time I was sick with a virus was almost 3 years ago. I actually ended up lose 10lbs during this flu.

I usually get the flu when someone coughs on TV... This "winter" I've been quite well *knock knock*. I don't want to even think how bad I would be with a 39C fever. I start to get bad already at 37C. Once I found my cheese in the breadbox and the bread was in the fridge later that day About ten years ago I had my very first and last angina so far and that was hell. It was in the middle of the hot freekin summer and I was inside for 3 days shivering cold and sweating hot. The first night was unbelievebly bad. I changed my soaking wet sheets once after rolling around as much as I could on the dry parts and for the pillow and the blanket I just had an extra pair to change once a while. To top the night off, I picked 5 movies at the rental and the the only thing I watched was The Devils Advocate. I was a lawyer that night. As if I wasn't in enough pain already

But yeah. Fluids and ibuprofen are the thing I take too when I'm sick. Garlic is something I probably use too much when I'm sick. But then again I put it almost in anything I eat. Honey in a cup of hot tea might do some good too.

Two weeks ago My son was sick and missed a week of school. Prior to that, we shared the same drink. Fortunately I must of been the carrier cause I am feeling fine. This year I decided not to take the Flu-shot.

I got food poisoning wtf pwnt one time. At first I threw up every 20 minutes it really really sucked. Had to go through the whole night like that.

Next day, threw up every 1-2 hours, couldnt hold down water, anytime I drank it was more throwup. Felt like shit I was really loopy when I tried to walk around and could barely stand up. I heard about Apple Cider Vinegar that it would stop the throwup. I drank it, it burned, tasted like shit and then I threw it up. I stopped throwing up

For the next 3 days my stomach was really hurt and I was getting dehydrated and it actually sucked to drink water. You would think drinking water would be nice because I hadn't had water in a day and a half but it just upset my stomach horribly.

I sat in bed for a long long time and finally felt better.

flu is a virus, it is naturally resistant to antibiotics

there are many strains of common flu out there, so he probably just got a minor one
they only make vaccinations for the most common type of flu/the biggest - the other ones don't occur often enough for a vaccination to be made for them

I've had a cold since Christmas Eve. Not known anything like it. It is more likely several colds all queuing up to get me. Bastards. I've not taken a day off work - not had the time too much on. Need to get some rest. Loads of people say I should go to the Doc, but why? Unless they can prescribe someone to take care of work and the kids, I don't need to be told, take plenty of fluids and rest. Fucking illness.......

I simply don't get the flu. Never had. But I do suffer from terrible sinusus issues which gives me a light cold usually permanently, and when I get a 'proper' cold it really isn't fun.

That was me Friday night... same symptoms. TheraFlu helped me. I'm about over it, although at night I still have trouble. The worst was the fever .

I would say that you most likely have a minor case of pneumonia

get an xray of your lungs and see what's up, i went to school for 3 months in 8th grade with a moderate severity case of pneumonia, and i was totally unaware of it

Yeah, everyone in my fam got it this winter except me. Longest sick day stretch my dad's ever had to take, he was out for like a week.
