Add 8 months on to battlefield 3's release date, that is when it will become dead. And by dead i mean the state battlefield vietnam is now. So not really dead, just endangered. A game this good will always have people playing.

lol @ people thinking it will die soon. do you think everyone is just going to stop playing it one day? i'm sure i'll take more breaks from it, but i know i'll always play as long as there's a server.

If only you'd been there when I played SEGA master with my 3d glasses, you'd understand. I thought that was the "shit" and it rocked my socks off.
No, I am not saying life back then was better, but we have so many more opportunties to keep games alive now with the Internet. Sure, BF2 in a few years will not have the thousands we have now, but it will easier to support such games with a small community than say when EverQuest or WoW gets some age. I feel sorry for those people when their MMORPG game "dies" and all their work amounts to a hill of beans.
I keep it fresh, and still honor those dusty old games on my shelf.

BF2 will be popular as long as mods such as PR and FH2 exist.
I think the whole stat and PID exploit turned off some people. I haven't played in nearly two months and don't really see a reason to play anymore. The game was fun but it it time to move on.
