Looks pretty good.

My only question is "Why not the 512MB 8800gt?"

Unless you decide to play crysis at 1680x1050, I don't think you will be disappointed at all.

I was on a budget of about $1200 including shipping/taxs. So I thought this would be a decent system for that price. I well post soon if anyone is interested.

Yep looks pretty solid. As you were on a $1200 budget, I would have recommended the AMD X2 6x processor over the E6550. According to tomshardware.com, the AMD 6000/6400+ outperforms the E6550 and is slighty cheaper. The motherboards (your one and the AMD Asus M2N Deluxe are about the same.
Would have taken the 8800GT 512mb over the 256mb tho.

Why not the 512mb 8800? It's only a few bucks more.

-Get a 680i, P35 or X38 Chipset
-Get a good cooler to OC the E6550 to E6600 and above Ghz
-Get a 512MB 8800GT or a 512MB 3870

Looks good. I would have gotten an
Intel chipset motherboard (generally cooler and better overclockers),
a 512MB 8800GT (hardly more expensive),
a decent CPU cooler,
a 32bit OS instead. Seeing as Vista needs a lot of ram and the 64bit OSs need more ram for apps than 32 bit due to the architecture (no coding problem by MS, but rather a mathematical constraint of the 32bit on 64bit system) it hardly makes sense to run 64bit on 2GB ram. Even on 4GB it is disputable what is the better option.

As for the e6650 vs. x2 6400+: The intel might be slightly slower than the AMD at stock clocks, but it overclocks way better than the AMD

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

It's generally faster, supports more RAM, IS STABLE ( unlike all the fucking noobs around here who claim otherwise ), it IS the future.

Don't give me crap about incompatabilities. It's all bullshit.

Never tried 64bit OS so i can't really tell though i did heard a lot of negative stuff about it. Btw next OS from Microsoft is still going to be 32bit.

It has to be, there are still to many CPUs which don't support 64 bit.

But in time it will switch over.

I don't think its that. People can use win98 or xp if they have an old PC. I think the main problem are software developing companies. They just don't make proper apps for 64bit OS.

Software companies are offering 64 bit solutions more and more. You don't get it, 64 bit is just better than 32 bit, its has twice the power and speed, the solution will take time, but I think 64 bit will prevail in the end.

Anyway, 64 bit can emulate 32 bit without any performance decrease, so for those companies who can't be bothered, it doesn't matter.

Can 128bit OS's be made? are they being made? And is there an estimate as to when it will be introduced?

I am on 64 bit Ubuntu, not Vista. And yes, no problems whatsoever.

I couldn't get 64 bit Vista, but at whatever chance I will get it.

That's gonna take many years. 128-bit architecture exists, but not in the customer segment, and seeing how 32-bit has lasted for almost 20 years now, and 64-bit hasn't even gotten started, we can look forward to a long, long wait for 128-bit systems in other than game consoles and supercomputers.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
