If it's possible for a computer to scan itself for viruses, why can't one, or multiple, super computers scan the entire internet for viruses?

Makes sence to me.

Discuss.

Computers are your property.  If I hosted my website on my own computer, I wouldn't want some super computer scanning my files for viruses.  And I certainly would not let them have write permission on my disk space.

In other words, privacy is why that won't happen.

For this to be effective the computers would have to scan like every server and pc connected freely and constantly
and who would let some supercomputer scan all their personal files on their computer freely
and the people who program the viruses will block the scan so they can keep p2ping viruses to people
and virus definitions are always way behind the newest crapware out there

Chances are even, when this so called super PC does get access to Everyone's HD's etc, it will be hacked and now somebody has access to ALL the passwords in the world.

Then they can create Skynet in their spare time. At least, that's the most logical effect of this.
