jimmanycricket is right. in the UK we have too little space to place criminals and often people serve less than half of their sentence as a result. we cannot have capital punishment because that would make us as bad as the thugs that commit these kind of murders and national service would do little more than teach these people how to kill.
what we need is medieval punishments like the stocks. if someone bricked a car or pissed in someone's garden then lock them in the stocks situated in the centre of the town or village and give them no food or water except for what gets thrown at them. public humiliation would end petty crime but Britain is definatley broken.

Capital punishment doesnt fucking make justice as bad as the crime. That is fucking retarded and honestly, anyone who thinks such is the same to me. Its because the idiots in charge of the UK think like that, that is the reason that the crime rate is so high and the criminals get off easy.

The law is there to uphold the values of society and in a society that beleives in christian values, killing another human being is wrong no matter what they have done. Holding the moral high ground is as important as the punishment
when i suggested the stocks i was suggesting the rotten fruit and veg idea that was so popular back then. get rid of all the rotten stuff that gets thrown out by supermarkets and put it to good use.
