Thaaaaaaaaaaaat would be Julius Caesar. I'm trying it man. I'm doing a guess and check kind of method.

First of all it's Julius Caesar, and second of all you have a numerical post telling you what to do, and a verbal post telling you what to do. Don't get greedy.
Et tu Brute? Then fall, Caesar. Ah. So many classic lines.
I liked the part that said "The End" the best.

missed the part on the romans /embarrassed

i get to 0=t2(t2-5t+2) but i fail at factoring it
You can't. Use the quadratic formula instead.

Just do guess and check, man. It's a pain in the sphincter, but it'll work eventually. It's what I do when I'm stuck on a BS question on a test.

Because you can't factor it, that 's why we said use the quadratic formula for the quadratic term. The root of the t squared term is zero, but you know that isn't an answer from the above reasons.

You can't guess and check on a problem like that, unless you start guessing decimals.

Try the quadratic formula and you'll see why.

No, no, I see now. You don't understand the pure hate I have for the quadratic formula. It's like...hate. Yeah.

But it's so simple That's why I like math. Formulas. You learn them and they just... work. a2+b2=c2 every time.

That too.

Seriously, I hate math. It's not like it's going to help me in my career path. I wish it would go back to separate classes of Trig, Algebra...etc. Now it's this bullshit "Math A, Math B, Math C" stuff.

Trig, I'm actually very good at. I don't mind it.
Calculus owns everything. This subject is art tbh.

5t3/t2(t2+2) = 5t/(t2+2)

5t/(t2+2) = 1

5t = t2+2

t2 - 5t + 2 =0

quadratic formula

t= (5+(17)1/2)/2 ; (5-(17)1/2)/2

sorry, it doesn't get any cleaner than that.

I'm pretty certain you can't do that with the cube root.

Just graph the thing on a graphing calculator. ;P
Just did it and the results were: 0.43844719, and 4.5615528. Sorry no exact values, but that gets you in the ball park.

Just checked S.Lythberg's answers and yea they are correct.
t= (5+(17)1/2)/2 ; (5-(17)1/2)/2

That's how I would have done it. The key here is the ability to divide and multiply exponents.
