Do you? Cos my neighbour asked me the other day if I was interested in buying one of his soon-to-be baby ferrets, and I said (of course). So depending on whether or not I'm allergic to it, I will be getting a ferret soon...

I've been reading up on the Internet on how to care for one, things to look out for etc. but wonder if any of you have owned one or do own one and could give some advice.

I know someone who had a ferret, he loved it. I don't know a lot about it, but I'm pretty sure he treated it like a big hamster.

Just looked up some information on Ferrets, and I guess they are not kept in cages? The pictures on wikipedia showed such a little animal. What if someone loses it?

Yeah, they are kept in cages, but only to sleep etc. or when you're busy and can't keep an eye on them.

I read that they're mischievous little bastards so when you have them out, you need to constantly keep an eye on them so they don't go somewhere they shouldn't (like a small hole) or chew some wires.

Means I have to clear up my PC area though... And fill in some holes...

Never bought one. Shot a load of them and run a few over. They escaped and bread on an Island just of the coast here and have done a good job killing every indigenous species its size on the island. Hares and ground nesting birds are all but gone on the island.

The general rule is that they are to be killed on sight.

I have no idea what kind of pet they make. Only what they look like after a hollow point .22 has visited them.
