I'm just curious if anyone knows of anywhere else to legally download movies for the Ipod besides Itunes. It blows me away when I look at some of the lame ass movies they have available. I know some of it has to do with getting the rights to sell them through Itunes, but I wish there was somewhere that had better movies.
Also, for my use...I'd be interested in any free ones also
what bout limewire or a torrent site?

Legal movies are for faggots.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Lets just put it this way you will be pissed off if you do it legally.
You didn't hear me say this, but illegally is the only way to get them. The thing is, you want these movies and you even want to pay for them but you're simply not given the option.
iTunes in New Zealand doesn't even offer movies. I'd buy them, I really would but the truth is I simply can't. I put movies on my iPod by either ripping them from my DVDs or getting them illegally. The simple truth is that I paid $600 for my iPod I want to be able to use all it's features to get my moneys worth out of it.

One of the best posts I've ever seen in the tech forum. This is why I just laugh at the Anti-Piracy people. I do buy movies and music legally, but I download music (and only music...not movies) illegally too. I'm not spending $2000 on music to put on a $400 iPhone.Ty wrote:

What converter do you use to convert avi and/or mkv to mp4? I've used a few, but the only ones I've used either take ages or simply don't work at all

Is there anywhere else to get legal movies for the Ipod? Is there any reason why Apple's business model for the Ipod should even be legal?
