How would you calculate this ?

9+0 = 9

9 / 81

= 0.11111111111111111111111

Thats the way I'd do it without thinking, if I had time to look at it, I'd do mulitply and divide first.

i.e I always bracket off in my mind when I shouldn't:

[9 + (9-9)]

/

(9x9)

I got a B at A level though

lol BODMAS has been round for like a hundred years. BIDMAS is just a recent change to it to make it more accurate and so that people dont get confused it later education.

Yeah, probably... Different countries, different schools and even different teachers will have differing ways of teaching the same shit. My point is you're arguing about an acronym which is inconsequential to what someone really knows. I have no problem using the correct order of operation, as should be quiet obvious as I'm doing 4th year uni maths, but until today had never seen nor needed an acronym to remember them by.

then I'd 1x9 = 9
then I'd 18-9

= 9

and in Iceland we symbol divide by either : , / or % rotated so that the line is horizontal and the rings above and below.
