lol you mean BODMAS?Vilham wrote:
: is divide right? BIDMAS
so:
9/9 = 1
1*9 = 9
9+9 = 18
18-9 = 9
ie the sum becomes (9+9)-((9/9)*9)

PEMDAS - (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract)
BODMAS - (Brackets, Orders, Divide, Multiply, Add, Subtract)
BEDMAS - (Brackets, Exponents, Divide, Multiply, Add, Subtract)
BIDMAS - (Brackets, Indices, Divide, Multiply, Add, Subtract)
EDIT: but this is the first I've ever heard of any of them (and I'm doing 4th year uni maths).

lol BODMAS has been round for like a hundred years. BIDMAS is just a recent change to it to make it more accurate and so that people dont get confused it later education.Varegg wrote:

Must be why i made a mistake then and got 153
Damn Alpha
Yeah, probably... Different countries, different schools and even different teachers will have differing ways of teaching the same shit. My point is you're arguing about an acronym which is inconsequential to what someone really knows. I have no problem using the correct order of operation, as should be quiet obvious as I'm doing 4th year uni maths, but until today had never seen nor needed an acronym to remember them by.robcr9 wrote:
