Why no one can be : Brigadier General ???
yeah make top general rank where you have to get a mil in points plus neeed every lvl of badge ribbon medal etc lol somethin liek that then go down from there.
They still didn't fix the 20,000 - 50,000 gap. That is a lot of points/hours for an average, casual player. Now you get promoted from Sargeant Major to 2ndLt in 10,000 Points but it takes you 30,000 to get the SgtMaj - well that didn't help the short time motivation of the 1stSgt.
Since I think that I play BF2 too much at the current level I decided to start a new profile. There is still something to accopmlish: new badges, ranks, unlocks. I know it is getting them again, but still better than jsut collecting those funny stars or the strange medals that require you to sacrifice your life (500 h, come on!). Because I don't switch teams just to play one army all the time I 'm not even able to go after the army specific medals. Expert badges are nice but going after them would mean that i have to sacrifice on the teamwork part (beein medic not a killer).
For some time the awards and point system intigued me (just another batch, a new rank etc.) but now with me stuck in this gap motivation is only there when playing with my clanmates in a squad using VOIP.

Well...sorry, but of course you like the ranks. You are beyond the rank I was talking about.frankie4fingers08-2 wrote:
I like the ranks and I like the fact i spend 7 months to get to SGT Major, (previous patch I would be a staff SGT or some shit). I think they needed to include more requirements from 2nd LT and up. Get certain Medals, so many teamwork points to qualify, stuff to promote use of team play and to use all aspects of the game not just a tank or jet.

Working my way tp Captain.....
20k to get Master Sgt.
Another 30k to get Sgt.Mjr.
Then only 10k to get 2nd Lt.
The jump from Master/First Sgt. to Sgt.Mjr. is THE LARGEST AMOUNT of points for rank in the game. It's the same as the Col.-B.General jump.
Jus' sayin' is all....jus' sayin'.
I feel ya, its just that people under 40K are still learning things about the game and the amount of points it takes should be a challenge as well as getting certain badges and medals. I personally feel that my game has gone to a much higher level because of 1. this web sites forums, 2. a better mouse and keyboard configuration 3. with more time comes more experience of the maps and the best way to succeed in terms of points and wins.Ken-Doka wrote:

At my current point and time played levels, I can pretty much only get 1 or 2 medals. So there was really no motivation to work beyond a couple more. Now I can at least earn ranks as I work towards expert badges and medals that require time, teamwork and kills.
I think with anything, the lower ranks have higher point ratios to see who is dedicated to play the game and willing to learn and try new things....

As a new 1st Sgt. I was hoping to see that huge gap drop a little. I am going to stop playing Bf2 once the summer begins due to other commitments It kind of bummed me out that I will never see an officer rank.
Using badges was a good idea, but that many hours in vehicles means that most of the Generals will likely be vehicle whores...I wish they had said "all expert kits" or something.

Ya I think the gap is too wide.
Also it doesn't make sense that the next rank up after First SErgent is on ly 10000GP compared to 30000GP for the rank up from Master Sergent to the First Sergent.
I really hope Battlefield team notes this and fix the issue.
