Hey,
The way my case is layed out, the fan on a 8800GT with the stock cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814130318) would blow up onto a piece of plastic about half an inch above it (the casing to my processors heat sink) So, I want to get one of the 8800GT's with a fan that is farther forward. Which of these is the best?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814125088
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814150273
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814122047

The way my case is layed out, I have room for two layers in front, but farther back, a second layer would hit the heat sink.

So pretty much, these three are my options, which is best?

just so you know the fan is on the bottom of the card not the top (the side you cpu is on) and draws air in not out.  I would still recomend the EVGA as they have lifetime warranty (even if you change the heatsink) and the step up program which gives you 90 days to trade up for a better card if you want to.

On my case, the vid cards definitely face up. That is, when the case is sitting up and down, the fan points up at me. Is it different with an 8800?

I have a 8600GT.

some weird upside-down ATX or BTX design maybe. Pics?
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

A photo of the inside of your case would work wonders here I think..

That big-ass full tower case has an upside-down ATX layout...what's it called?  Thermaltake Armor or something.

even if you turn the mobo upsidedown the fan is still on the other side of the actual video card from the cpu

This is the weirdest motherboard I've heard of. Besides, the fan doesn't blow air out. It has high angled fins which draw air from the back and flush it through the sides.

Its a Dell
I have upgraded the PSU all ready so thats not a problem, here are some pics
https://regmedia.co.uk/2006/09/14/dell_e521_1.jpg

Its confirmed on the Dell forums that a 8800GT will fit, but, since the fan would face upwards, It would be blocked (I think) by that black casing of the CPU's heatsink.

I have tried the GT in that case. It fits, but it touches the CPU cooler at its end.

Yes, that's what I mean, will it effect the cooling of the Video Card?

I wouldn't think so. But you better of getting a GT with a stock cooler. Otherwise it won't fit.

get the LEADTEK one, I have it and it owns! runs at 720/1000, 55C on load(crysis on high), and dead silent!
