Way to convert M4P to anything else?

My mom and dad had been looking for an album by Katie Melua for a long long time. I created them an account on iTunes to download it as it was only 3€ and they wouldn't have to keep searching for it.
Big mistake. Didn't realize that the songs are M4P, which doesn't really work with anything but iTunes.

I've been looking all over for a converter to get them to MP3 or some other format, but no luck.
iTunes's own handy converter tells me that I can't convert protected music.
Apparently even after buying it, I don't own it. Fucking copyrights...

Anyone know of a way to convert them to MP3? (Or PM me a link to a torrent/download for Katie Melua - Nine Million Bicycles)

WinAmp plays MP4/M4A... Even my phone plays it.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. M4P is not MP4, its a protected version of an M4A.

Hmm... Weird, didn't work with my dad's laptop atleast.

Burn the album to a CD, then rip it to your format of choice using another program like WMP.

I heard a way around it once, something about burning it to a CD and then re-ripping it, only you have to change the burn/rip settings so it bypasses the protection. Could find it on google I'm sure, but no matter if Zim has you covered. Just never use iTunes again
