Maybe we're just hoping that someone from the inside will kill him anyway? If he's incompetent like GS said.M.O.A.B wrote:
I don't really know enough on the subject, but do you think there would be a way of making it look like an internal assassination? i.e a mahdi killing him, if that were the case they may break themselves overall and be easier to handle, in the long run that is.
I'll kill him. I'll make it look like an accident. Maybe Weapon misfire?Spearhead wrote:

aw man it doesnt matter whether it would be lower than it was sometime in the past. Violence was lowered - good, but if it starts rising enough again it will be reported and understood by common people as USA failing and loosing control in Iraq. As GunSlinger asshole-ishly insulted me "you expect too much from zeidmaan"... well you expect too much from your fellow voters if you think they will analyze the numbers and statistics and read 20 books and make up their own opinion. Do you agree?FEOS wrote:
The biggest drop has been in Sunni-based insurgent violence. That was always the bulk of the violence against Iraqi and Coalition forces. So...even if Sadr decides to re-engage, the overall violence level would still be much lower than it was before the Sunnis pulled their head out of their collective ass.zeidmaan wrote:
Whats even worse is that current US gov has extensively publisised the drop in violence statistics. They have hyped it up and braged about it so much that Sadr has them by the balls now. If he orders his militia to start fighting again he literally decides the US election. Because if violence sky rockets again no amount of bullshit will help the Republicans and very few people would believe that the situation is improving. And we all know the war will be a major deciding factor in next elections. Weird situation if you ask me.
Read up on the situation next time.
Question is "can he create enough violence and attacks" and I admit I dont know him personally, but I just though he is significant enough since he is mentioned constantly, and since the cease-fire with him was praised so much. Ive read ample amount of times that he is connected with Iranians and that he received sophisticated weapons including EFPs.
What would you have done afterwords? Gone to his house and searched it for weapons and bombs and shit?GunSlinger OIF II wrote:
whats funny about that though, a couple of months later, mahdi militiamen were on the shit list again. I personally arrested one particular individual driving an empty gas tank on his way to making a VBIED. Know why he was detained? at first when i searched his vehicle, i found nothing but as I remembered all the stash spots that I got away with from the cops growing up, I found a few sadr posters and and some casettes of his speeches hidden in various places. That was enough to get arrested.
he was pick up on the spot. it was a car check point. further interrogation by people with a different MOS than mine found out about it and about other plans as well.Spearhead wrote:

I gotta hand it to Muqtada. He's one clever bastard.
I have a feeling that he will be Iraq's next dictator.

he's just riding his fathers name. they dont name sadr city after mookie.
Clever as in he's one of the only people sly enough to be able to kill soldiers of the most powerful country on Earth and still be alive. I hate the fucker, but you have to admit that it takes some serious maneuvering to be able to get away with that.
He's elusive, and knows how to survive.Turquoise wrote:

But what he's really doing is threatening to kill a bunch of innocent people if we go after him. He's using the people as hostages. Clever, maybe. But it doesn't take a smart person to point a gun at a hostage and say "if you move I'll shoot".
ill tell you this. he knows as long as the American military is there, his power would be limited. As long as there is a strong insurgency, the US military will be there. Its in his best interests that the mahdis that he controls stay calm.
That's all true, but I think it's also because if we kill him, he becomes a martyr.
He's clever for an Islamic terrorist. That's as far as it goes.
but, he is a moron. Every time he called for an uprising against the Americans, he was murked. Losing thousands of fighters. My experience with the mahdi militia has shown me that fighting wars should be their last profession.
