So I ask, why? What is so HORRIBLE about the U.S. that you HAVE to insult it every minute of the god damn day? Is it envy?

I dont see Americans constantly bashing Canadians, Europeans, Australians, so why do you need to?

I dont mean to start a flame war, I just want to know why. (Ive also searched, nothing like this found)
I can't speak for elsewhere, but I think you have to make the distinction between distaste of Americans/America and distaste for American attitudes and policies as they relate to the rest of the world.
Which is because of Bush's idiotic foreign policy.

Did I mention he lost the popular election by 500,000 votes back in 2000 to Al Gore?

I don't know how much people in other countries pay attention to our politics, but I'm betting a lot outside this country don't know that.  (also a lot of people inside this country, too)

But won the electoral vote. Otherwise, he wouldn't be in office and Al Gore would be hording all our electrical power to fuel fires for his endangered fish feasts.

This.

You are all under the impression you're the god damn best country to have ever been founded.
Better than yours.

I hardly think it's wrong for anybody to feel smug about their nation.

As far as I'm concerned, America has opened itself up to receiving criticism. Go ahead and bash it all you want, just remember that once in our history, and hopefully in our future, we were a country with outstanding foreign policy. America has the resources to save the world... but it currently lacks the leadership.
Maybe sometime when we're dead someone will wake up and realize how close America is to Eden.

1. I know, but some uninformed foreigners somehow have the impression that everyone in the US is the same and agrees with Bush, when in fact he has been one of the most controversial presidents in American history.

2. It's okay to feel proud of your nation, heritage, race,  ethnicity, even sexuality.  But I think when you start to stereotype it shows you think you're better than so and so because something about you naturally makes you better than them.

tp be bluntly honest, American foreign policy has always been pretty one sided.

people had just as much to complain about in 1808 as they do today.

American foreign policy has always been at the expense of someone.  But, it is what it is.  Not like we're any different than the rest of the world in terms of exploiting.

The way I see it, idiots are everywhere. The difference responsible for the situation you're describing is that stupidity seems to be cherished in the US, leaving especially Europeans with a smug arrogance towards Americans. As always, though, Europe is just a few years behind the US, and it's just a matter of time before these narrow-minded people become what they arrogantly abhor. Society over here is getting more and more stupid by the day. It's just not getting the same critical exposure, as the Americans did it first.

I hate it when people refer to our country as "Holland". It's called The Netherlands. "Holland" is just two provinces of this country.

Holland doesn't exist anymore, it's either South Holland and North Holland(provinces) or The Netherlands.(whole country)

I don't mind when they say Holland because I live in South Holland but for the Dutchies in other provinces I can imagine, tho we wave flags with Holland on it also ourselves....

True, i have nothing against the American people (except a few who i hate on a more personal basis lol) but frankly, ur foreign policies in the last decade/s has much to be desired. i realise that being the most powerful nation is a big job.... but someone has to do it.... soon it wont be ur responsibility though...

EDIT: spelling
