Hello everyone.

I recently took a huge interest in my family's history, And I was wondering where would I need to start I know one of my cousins ( He is is 90 something years old ) made a family tree but I tried google and just got lost.

Anyone know where to start?

Also, My familys background on my grandfathers side is Irish & German I believe.

Edit: Also, I do not want to spend any money for a search.

That's a start, but you might also want to check out records in a library/city hall/what not, which can be time consuming but more accurate that an internet search.
