Hey guys, Im in the middle of modding a case. Not extremely but enough to be unique.

I havent decided what color scheme I should use.

Any suggestions?

I was think Red/Blue/purple with Orange cable sleeves.

But Blue and Green looks good as well.

I'm not a fan of brightly painted cases, so I'd suggest a black case, silver accents with some kind of blue/green lighting.

A photo of the case might help. side and front view would be great!

get out of the box and go with all UV lights. either that or all yellow.

i like this as well as long as you have something to react to the UV light.  I have 4 UV lights in my case and it was nice with my DFI lanparty board that reacted to it but kind of sucks with my new board which doesn't.

It's up to you, since it's a very personal opinion. One general rule, though, is not to go with too many colours. One colour is enough, two can be ok, but 3+ and it'll just look cluttered. I run my case all blue btw.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Thanks for all the replies.

Currently I don't have any pictures of the case, but it's an Antec P182 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … p;Tpk=P182)

So far I have cut out a window for the side panel (it was a bitch because the side panel seems to have three layers for sound dampening) and tinted the acrylic that goes there with a bronze tint for a neat one way visibility thing.

I still have to make a few cuts for airflow (I'm going to cut the front two vents and replace them with modders mesh. It might get a bit dustier but hopefully it will bring airflow on par to the Antec 900. In the bottom vent Im adding a yate Loon 120 mm x 20 mm because there is no room for a regular size one without modding the cage drive and frame as well.)

Im painting the inside a flat black with the same paint they use to paint Grills and Barbecues, heat resistant.

And lastly but not least Im going to etch into the side window (maybe a logo or figure) and was thinking of soldering a LED array and super gluing it to the side window, making the etching light up, and maybe hook up the LEDs to a separate switch.

Thats all I have plan, if i have left over money after buying the hardware, I'll probably build a custom water loop and mount the rad to the case.

I didn't think anyone would be interested of my mod, so I didn't take pictures. I'll post up a worklog once Im done

So now to the main topic, I'm leaning towards to blue and green, but was think red LEDs against that etch would look wicked. Great suggestions guys, keep it up

That case would need alot of modding and paint to look half decent. It's so plain

Yea, I liked it because It has an elegant taste to it, like the Lian Li's cases, but I also like "bling" on my computers. Its gonna look very nice, with the tinted window and all, but if I go to a lan party i want lights ( im starting to think to hook up the cathodes into switches for on and off options).

Oh and basically all my inspirations have come from hardforums. It would really be a big help if you guys have other suggestions I can perform.

EDIT

Trolling around the forums, someone posted this link up

A very nice lighting mod
Personally, I like to use blacklight (UV) and then use luminescent paint on some of my gear (like the fan blades, heatsinks or cable-eaters). UV has some disadvantages though. Bad for your eyes being one of them.
On one mod I took a laser pointer and pointed it at the northbridge fan (a very slow fan, as I attached a small fancontroller to slow it to around 100 RPM, NOTE: This is only practical if there is also passive cooling, or you have VERY good airflow), painted the blades with silver and polished them. It was AWESOME the way the light shone out of the case window... I'm almost sad I dont have that case anymore.
and look at this pic

I think I might be going with that scheme. any thoughts?

Hey, I have that case (last link)! Looks alot better than mine too. Lights are nicely done.

And from that quote, the laser idea really seems cool.
