No kidding... Granted, I do drive a Saturn Astra... I can fill it up with Premium for about $35 every 2 weeks.
Absolutely serious.. My tank is 22 gallons. It was $3.19 in that part of town.Turquoise wrote:

Check this out.. Today I was filling up my gas tank and the pump slowed to a stop and said "Limit Reached" @ $50. No shit.

Damn... I think my tank is only like 12 gallons max. It's got low horsepower, but it's really light.
I'm eying a diesel now..lol. Much better economy.Turquoise wrote:

Damn, you seriously aftermarketed that shit... I'll be doing that soon enough. There's only so much I can do with mine before it voids the warranty.SEREMAKER wrote:
its between $3.11 to $3.19 here and I have a 25 gallon tank with a V-8 engine ........ even with cold air in-take system, single in/out flowmaster, power programmer and chip
As for gas prices, the last time I filled up (about a week ago), premium was like $3.40.
anxious consumers fearing shortages in the future are demanding more gas now than they normally would, and the more you talk about the "shortages" the more the people think they actually exist - in an extreme sense.

Yea, but how much is diesel in your part of town? Diesel is $3.69 a gallon here.Kmarion wrote:

Short of anyone installing an in ground fuel tank at home the worst they can do is filler up. Fearful increased demand in fuel doesn't impact the long term. Although it could effect consumer confidence in buying trends.CoronadoSEAL wrote:

it can do some damage on the drag racing
The best thing you can do is save up some cash and buy a ton of gas at a fuel bank. Just wait until prices settle down some, and then buy whatever you can afford.Kmarion wrote:

Diesel is more expensive per gallon but it gets you further.SenorToenails wrote:

It isn't lack of oil -yet. It is the lack of refineries. I think one just went down too for a few months. Also, if we weren't so "not in my backyard" the US would have plenty of oil/refineries and be just fine happy with our $2 gas again.twoblacklines wrote:
Anyone noticed petrol prices going up up up ? And also, none of the manufacterers of cars are bringing out high performance ones anymore.
IS oil running out finally, or is it just a side effect of the "war on terror" in iraq ?
Discuss.

Yes, oil is a commodity to be bought and sold. Not a very smart investment imho. Unless you are an insider at least.Turquoise wrote:

Depends.. for instance Jeep has a diesel for the grand Cherokee. They have the difference listed as 3 mpg. I swear it's more (my buddy just bought one). On bigger vehicles the difference is dramatic. That's why when I drove for UPS the majority of their vehicles were diesel. You can imagine what their gas bill is a month.SenorToenails wrote:

Very true. Refineries are a huge part of the equation. We have one where I live, but the downside is that the pollution creates acid rain. Dealerships actually have to use some special finish on cars here, so that their inventory doesn't get damaged by the rain.DBBrinson1 wrote:

The company selling and manufacturing the "special finish" contributes to the pollution. Check mate.Turquoise wrote:

That wouldn't surprise me... Do you know the names of any prominent companies that make what I'm talking about?Kmarion wrote:

No, I'm not familiar. It's kinda like the theory that most computer viruses are released by the dorks that work at Norton, Macafee.. etc.Turquoise wrote:

I don't know how this converts to $US/gallon, but prices constantly hit $AUS1.50 a litre here.
