So I spent 15 minutes on ground defense on 2 separate occasions, once on a MG mounted in Humvee, once on a ground mounted TOW.

WTH do you have to do to get that medal?

Awarded to personnel who have been exposed to enemy fire while performing their duties in a ground defense vehicle.

Erm you dont include the mounted guns on vehicles as ground defence time or kills... those are included as the vehicle type they are... e.g. Humvee .50 cal is transport

OK, so I understand all that was said (thanks for the replies), now:

Where is there a mounted MG on SF maps? I know there are TOW's on ghost, warlord, etc..., but MG's? I have yet to see one...

Aside from that, for those of us that play SF solely, why require an aviator badge for advancement to certain ranks when there are NO AIRPLANES in SF???? Now I have to go play vanilla BF2 some more <---My Rant ;-)

That might help.

I don't think that is accurate. You get transport kills and by your statement those kills wouldn't get logged as transport since it would count for ground defense.

No, his statement is correct. The Mounted machine guns on the Vodniks and Hummers are considered Transport and do not count towards ground defence time or kills.

The only things that count for Ground Defence are the mounted machine gun nests and the TOWs. You can find them on the map and minimap as a black MG icon.

Warlord, Palace Security, in the little building by the entrance. That's a good one to get some kills on. There are also a few others on Warlord.

Ghost Town, on the roof by the convoy, next to the AA. Shooting towards the upper and lower north side CPs will get you some kills too.
