Even to non Brits, or Brits you haven't come across VIZ I recommend you take just perhaps 1 hour of your free time to read some of the stuff they print. I haven't bought it for years as like most publications the price rose and the pages came filled with adverts rather than the comic strips itself.
While all my mates were getting "Match" or "Shoot" (football) annuals or even "The Guinness book of records" I was getting "The Viz Annual 1996 - The dogs hairy bollocks" or whatever they called it that year.

Dr. Mcninja, and the Perry Bible Fellowship.
Dr. Mcninja is extremely random in a good way, and rather long for a webcomic (think 50 pages). PBF is four panels of pure victory.

The Last Days of Foxhound, a parody of Metal Gear Solid. been going on since 2003, it's almost complete. Well worth reading, has a few awesome moments.
